Dr. Heidi Hallett's Retirement Updates

Retirement Update 1-17-2024:

Greetings in the New Year! Here are some “retirement“ updates, though shifting gears after 32 years seems like a better description to me. I have work displayed in an art exhibit that was recently hung at the Oconomowoc Arts Center. It’s called Respective North and includes my oil paintings along with Dr. John’s bronze and glass pieces and Anne Raskopf’s acrylic paintings. It will be up through March 3, 2024 and is our 12th year of exhibiting together at the OAC. Do stop in if you’re in the area. We’ll be doing a gallery talk on February 8th at 4:00 pm.

In addition to painting, I continue with my poetry which is periodically included in a project or anthology. I enjoy the channels for collaboration that art provides and pursue those opportunities, often with the Pewaukee Area Arts Council which works to bring art to our communities. Time is also spent with family near and far, visiting my mother in Illinois almost every week and catching up with our boys, one on each coast at the moment.

I am still maintaining my veterinary license which requires 30 hours of CE (continuing education that is approved to meet the qualification) every 2 years. We have always valued CE at Hallett Veterinary Hospital, supporting the team in their CE endeavors and genuinely curious to hear what they bring back. I never minded the requirement for veterinarians and look at it as a good way to keep in touch with an ever evolving and intriguing profession. Needless to say, it’s always nice too to run into people and their pets when I’m out and about around town.

Best regards,
Dr. Heidi
