Certified Veterinary Technician
Bio: Hi, I’m Madylin! I’m a Certified Veterinary Technician with about two years of experience in the field, including time spent in emergency medicine. Working in the ER taught me how to stay calm under pressure, think quickly, and be there for both pets and their people during some of the most stressful moments.
Hobbies/intrests: Outside of work, I enjoy a mix of relaxing and creative hobbies. I love playing video games to unwind, traveling to new places, and stargazing whenever I get the chance. Music is a big part of my life—I write my own songs, sing, and play four instruments. I’m almost always listening to something, whether I’m at home or on the go. I also love spending time with my two kitties and husband, who keep life entertaining at home.
Education: I didn’t take the traditional path into veterinary medicine. I earned my Associate’s degree in Human Services, but found my passion for animal care through hands-on, on-the-job training. I worked my way into the field and became a Certified Veterinary Technician through real-world experience, learning directly in clinical settings.
Why I chose this profession: I kind of fell into veterinary medicine by chance. I started out working as a receptionist after it was suggested to me by my now mother-in-law. From there, I transitioned into a veterinary assistant role and quickly realized I had found something I truly enjoyed.
Favorite part of the job: My favorite part of veterinary medicine is knowing I make a difference. Whether it’s helping a scared patient feel more comfortable, supporting a worried owner through a difficult moment, or being part of a team that helps an animal recover, those small moments add up in a meaningful way.
