Veterinary Assistant
Why I chose this profession:
After years of moving through different careers, I thought to finally stop sidelining my love for animals. In 2022, I made the best decision to turn that into a full-time calling. Between school and two internships at the Dane County Humane Society’s Wildlife Center, I know that I am finally on the right path. Currently working on getting my certification so I can continue growing as a veterinary professional.
Favorite part of my job:
Favorite aspects of my job would include surgery and dental, along with laboratory procedures. I have always enjoyed biology and anatomy. Being able to put my knowledge into real life situations is very gratifying. Working here has been the coolest experience for the little nerd in AP Biology senior year of high school!
Personal hobbies and interests:
My personal hobby of mine begins with my two fur boys at home. I have two cats and a leopard gecko who keep me quite busy. I do get time to relax and enjoy a video game here and there (bonus points for anything containing cats). Anything that gets me to learn something new is on the list!
Education:
Currently obtaining certification for CVT through on the job training and studying for the VTNE
