Bather

Reports to: Groomer

Under the direct supervision of the Team Leaders and Hospital Administrator the Bather is responsible for, but not limited to, the everyday needs of the animals that are at the facility to receive grooming services. The Bather must enjoy working with animals.

  • Bath, dry and prepare animals for the groomer
  • Clean cages, tub, tables and floors daily
  • Follow special cleaning/care procedures as needed
  • Record and report important information about animals’ conditions
  • Take incoming animals to the grooming area
  • Provide compassionate care to patients
  • Prepare animals for dismissal, discharging patients when necessary
  • Do laundry
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Perform duties of Pet Care Representative when requested
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain and relay information with all those contacted throughout the course of the workday.

  • Diplomatic social skills to maintain the highest level of cooperation team members in other areas of the grooming salon and hospital.
  • Motivated to the highest level of customer satisfaction

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift 35lbs without assistance
  • Ability to open/close various types of containers with or without tools
  • Ability to use a step ladder or stool
  • Ability to reach above your head with arms stretched holding product
  • Ability to bend down or squat or use stairs to basement
  • Ability to walk the various types of terrain around the facility

Working conditions: May be exposed to unpleasant odors, noises and animal feces. May be exposed to bites, scratches and contagious diseases.

General Description of Position: Receptionists are the customer-relations experts in a veterinary grooming salon. They are the clients' first impression of the practice, on the phone or in person. Receptionists must possess strong organizational skills, have excellent telephone and in-person communication skills, and possess the ability to remain calm under pressure. Receptionists must have compassion for animals and their owners and understand the stress that patients and clients endure.
